Shumon with the Tengu, and marry one of Matsuba's sons if she wants. When he learns Aoi is collateral for Shiro's debt he offers to pay the debt and let Aoi live on Mt. Matsuba gives Aoi the fan he once intended to give Shiro.
Odanna reveals that Matsuba is actually the Tengu Elder who went missing after falling from an airship. Matsuba intended to give Shiro a valuable Tengu fan as thanks, but never got around to it. The Tengu, named Matsuba, was once saved from drowning by Aoi's grandfather Shiro. Aoi finds an elderly drunk Tengu and helps him recover by giving him food she made. Several guests get into a fight during which Odanna treats Aoi harshly. Transcription: " Ayakashi o yado de shigoto mitsukemashita." ( Japanese: あやかしお宿で仕事みつけました。) "I've Found a Job at the Inn for Spirits." Elsewhere other Ayakashi react to the news a human bride has appeared in the Hidden Realm. After tasting her omurice he asks her to work at the restaurant.
She encounters Ginji in a run-down restaurant and offers to cook something. She attempts to find a job but is rebuffed by the other servants who consider a human a poor choice for Odanna's wife. Aoi remembers that a kind Ayakashi once fed her when she was a child. Aoi is visited by Ginji, a nine-tailed fox servant who brings her food. Odanna agrees, but points out that as an employee rather than his wife, she will receive no protection from dangerous Ayakashi. Aoi refuses to marry Odanna and insists on working to pay off the debt. Aoi's grandfather frequently visited Tenjin-ya where he amassed a debt of 100 million yen and offered Aoi's hand in marriage as payment. The Ayakashi, an Ogre named Odanna, kidnaps her to the Ayakashi's Hidden Realm, where he runs an inn named Tenjin-ya. She encounters a hungry Ayakashi whom she gives her lunch to. Abandoned by her mother Aoi was raised by her grandfather who eventually died. Transcription: " Ayakashi o yado ni yomeiri shimasu." ( Japanese: あやかしお宿に嫁入りします。)Īoi Tsubaki has been able to see Ayakashi since she was a child. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the series. The second opening theme is "Utsushiyo no Yume" ( ウツシヨノユメ, A Dream of the Temporal World ) by Nano, and the second ending theme is "Shiranai Kimochi" ( 知らない気持ち, Unknown Feelings) performed by Megumi Nakajima. The first opening theme is "Tomoshibi no Manimani" ( 灯火のまにまに), performed by Nao Tōyama and the first ending theme is "Sai -color-" ( 彩 -color-), performed by Manami Numakura. The series ran for two cours, with 26 episodes in 9 DVD/Blu-ray releases. It aired from April 2 to September 24, 2018, on the Tokyo MX and BS Fuji stations. The series was announced in November 2017 and is directed by Yoshiko Okuda at Gonzo, with scripts handled by Tomoko Konparu, characters designs done by Yōko Satō and music composed by Takurō Iga. Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits is an anime television series based on the light novel series written by Midori Yūma and illustrated by Laruha.
